Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jarryn Payne, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Payne scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Chaise Smith, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Southern Wake Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. They blew past John Paul II Catholic 70-33 at home. The victory was just what Southern Wake Academy needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior game.
Washington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Southern Wake Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
