Colton extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-8. They lost 17-2 to the Country Christian Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Colton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelynn Kimsey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Kimsey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
As for Country Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.
On Country Christian's side, Adelynn Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Smith was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Cara C.Mulhern and Keeley Dahlgren did most of the damage at the plate: C.Mulhern got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Dahlgren went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Rhoden, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Colton has already played their next contest (against Western Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Country Christian, they will challenge Perrydale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 13.4 runs per game this season.
