The Shepard Astros will be playing in front of their home fans against the Evergreen Park Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Shepard: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Evergreen Park has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shepard beat Oak Lawn 21-17.
Meanwhile, everything went Evergreen Park's way against Argo on Friday as Evergreen Park made off with a 33-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Evergreen Park, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Evergreen Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of David Johnson, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and Jedidiah Adjayi, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Keshaun Lee got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Shepard's win pushed their record up to 2-6, while Evergreen Park's bumped their own up to the opposite: 6-2.
Shepard took a serious blow against Evergreen Park in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 41-14. Will Shepard have more luck at home instead of on the road?
