With a playoff win on the line, Seventy-First rose to the challenge  on Friday. They breezed past the Croatan Cougars to the tune of  58-30. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11  games by 20  points or more this season.
 Jewel Gully was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double with 21 points and 11  rebounds. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 8  boards per game.  Alani-Skye Wilkerson was another key player,  dropping  a double-double with 11  points and 14  rebounds.
 Seventy-First  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 25  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive rebounds in 51 consecutive  matches  dating back to last season.
 Croatan's loss  came despite strong showings from  Neely McMannen and  Allison Waner.  McMannen  posted 13 points and five  boards, while  Waner  put up two  points and six  rebounds. The dominant performance gave  Waner a new career-high in  boards.
Seventy-First has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record  this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 56.2 points over those games. The  defeat snapped Croatan's winning streak at 12 games  and leaves them with a 18-2 record.
 Coming up, Seventy-First will square off against Western Alamance at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. One thing working in Western Alamance's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  in their last six games. Croatan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
