The Ayersville Pilots put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Hicksville 50-20 at home. Ayersville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.
Ally Schindler was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Taylor Craft was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hicksville struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Ayersville's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Hicksville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Ayersville will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Montpelier at 1:30 p.m. Montpelier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Ayersville is ranked 75th). As for Hicksville, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincolnview at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
