After two games on the road, River Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Highland Fighting Scots at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, River Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to the Stallions.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carson Smith, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Chase Ebert, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 14th straight defeat. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Galion. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), Highland still had to take the loss.
River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Highland, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17.
Everything came up roses for River Valley against the Fighting Scots when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 74-46 victory. With River Valley ahead 42-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
