After flying high against Chowchilla  last Saturday, Hollister came back down to earth. The Haybalers fell just short of the Monterey Dores by a score of  4-3 on Wednesday.  At the plate,  Aleah Ruiz and  Ashlee Io did some serious damage despite the final result:  Ruiz  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, while  Io  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Hollister's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Monterey, they pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the  win, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Hollister will face off against Salinas at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Haybalers 4, the Cowboys 2.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Monterey, they will square off against Scotts Valley at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
