Currituck County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Holmes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Currituck County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Parker, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. Parker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Arianna White, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Currituck County's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Holmes, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Currituck County will take on Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Holmes, they will be playing at home against First Flight at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. First Flight presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holmes in North Carolina (First Flight is ranked 91st, while Holmes is ranked 260th).
