Parkland (Allentown, Pa.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 2 in Pennsylvania, but was stunned by
La Salle College (Wyndmoor, Pa.), 28-7. La Salle College was ranked at No. 4 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Pennsylvania coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a
Mike Eife touchdown run in the first quarter, the Explorers led 21-0 at the half.
La Salle College expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. LSC's lone score in the quarter came on a
Chris Kane touchdown pass to
Sean Coleman.
The loss snapped the Trojans' 11-game winning streak.
The Wyndmoor school's standout player in the win was Kane. The senior threw two touchdowns.
Parkland's lone touchdown came on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Explorers had given up an average of 14.6 points prior to the contest.
The loss comes after Parkland defeated Delaware Valley 49-41 last week.
