Lebanon and West Albany are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lebanon has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Lebanon's victory against Corvallis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spartans 18-17. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Mahala Pyle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett French, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lebanon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.
Meanwhile, West Albany came up short against Dallas on Friday, falling 10-3. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Albany saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Kidd 2026, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Meritt Forney 2025 also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for West Albany, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-13.
West Albany's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lebanon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for West Albany, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Lebanon's hitters?
Lebanon came out on top in a nail-biter against West Albany in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
