The Clinton-Massie Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Bellbrook Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clinton-Massie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Clinton-Massie had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Batavia on Wednesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ava Crombie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Karley Goodin was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Crombie was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Clinton-Massie hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bellbrook got themselves on the board against Ross on Wednesday, but Ross never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rams 1-0.
The result came thanks to Abigail Hebrank (2028)'s shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aleina Powell (2028), who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Bellbrook has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Clinton-Massie, their record now sits at 6-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clinton-Massie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bellbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Clinton-Massie suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Bellbrook in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
