The Temecula Valley Golden Bears were the 17-10 winner over the Great Oak Wolfpack when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Temecula Valley was beaten by Great Oak 49-21 on Thursday. Temecula Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Although Temecula Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Jake Cella, Gabriel Lawrence, and Jake Elliott.
Great Oak got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Vasquez out in front who threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Another player making a difference was James (jt) Trevino, who gained 140 total yards and a touchdown.
Temecula Valley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Great Oak, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Temecula Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Great Oak will head out on the road to face off against La Serna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Serna is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
