Softball Recap: Lancaster Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eastside two weeks ago, Lancaster came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Knight Hawks by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Elsy Herrera and Jordyn Zinn did some serious damage despite the final result: Herrera went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Zinn went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Herrera's first of the season. Nayomi Ordonez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

The loss snapped Lancaster's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Knight, they moved to 5-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Lancaster wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Quartz Hill on the 3rd. As for Knight, they have also already played their next game, a 17-0 win against Palmdale on the 3rd.
