In what's become a running theme this season, the St. John Woodchucks gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 56-25 victory over Cavalier at home. With St. John ahead 31-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaycee Desjarlais, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Desjarlais is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alani Morin, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
St. John's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Cavalier, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
St. John won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] on January 26th. As for Cavalier, they will be playing at home against Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Langdon/Edmore/Munich is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.
