Rossville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Central Noble Cougars on Saturday. Avery Layton was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Layton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caydence Robey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
