The Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys are taking a road trip to square off against the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Falfurrias' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Idea Academy as Falfurrias made off with a 17-0 win. With that victory, the Fightin' Jerseys brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Ben Benavides made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Benavides was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples and four RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Falfurrias hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Corpus Christi Moody struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
