On Tuesday, Appoquinimink faced the Mount Pleasant Green Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Appoquinimink was able to grind out a solid victory over Mount Pleasant, winning 70-60. Mount Pleasant can consider this payback for the 60-55 defeat they dealt Appoquinimink the last time the teams encountered one another last January.
The win was the sixth in a row for Appoquinimink and raised their record to 14-3. The Green Knights' overall record fell to 14-4.
Appoquinimink will look to defend their home court today against Middletown. Appoquinimink has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency. The Green Knights will stay at home against Brandywine today. Brandywine also suffered a recent loss, falling 85-65 to DuPont.
