The Oak Ridge War Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-54 win over The Woodlands. That's another feather in the cap for Oak Ridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Oak Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Jones led the charge by scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Chioma (treasure) Emeh, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and seven steals.
Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for The Woodlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing New Caney the next time they take the court. The Woodlands will head out to face New Caney at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Oak Ridge will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
