The Colleyville Heritage Panthers had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Wyatt. Given Colleyville Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Wyatt is ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Luke Ullrich, who threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Ullrich is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Colleyville Heritage also got help from Braden Blueitt who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.
Colleyville Heritage's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.6 points per game. As for Wyatt, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Colleyville Heritage will be playing at home against Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wyatt, they will head out on the road to face off against Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Argyle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 392 points over their last seven games.
