Zion Chapel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Stuart, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Slade Grantham, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Zion Chapel pushed their record up to 16-6 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Luverne, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zion Chapel will take on Pike Liberal Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pike Liberal Arts will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Zion Chapel is ranked 160th). As for Luverne, they will head out on the road to take on Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Goshen has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
