Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Edgewater

Trinity Christian Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 23-4 margin over Edgewater. The result was nothing new for Trinity Christian Academy, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Trinity Christian Academy let Nataly Martinez and Athena Velez run wild. Martinez scored four runs while going 4-for-4, while Velez went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Martinez also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Leigha Winters, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Trinity Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .677. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Trinity Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. Edgewater's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

After both having extra time off, Trinity Christian Academy and Orangewood Christian will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. Orangewood Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. Edgewater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th.
