Landrum and Broome are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Landrum Cardinals will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Broome Centurions at 6:00 p.m. Landrum's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Broome's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Landrum's victory against Liberty wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Landrum won by a run and slipped past Liberty 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Broome had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Blacksburg with a sharp 12-3 victory last Saturday. The Centurions not only won last Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024.

Dylan Ramirez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

Broome hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Landrum pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.9 runs. As for Broome, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Landrum came out on top in a nail-biter against Broome in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will Landrum repeat their success, or does Broome have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
