With a playoff win on the line, Holmes County rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Chipley Tigers get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Bradley Garrett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tristan King, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
The win was the sixth in a row for Holmes County, bringing their record up to 20-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Chipley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
As of now, neither Holmes County nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
