Basketball Recap: IMG Academy Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montverde Academy, IMG Academy was happy to have turned things around on Sunday. They secured a 63-58 W over the Southeastern Prep Academy National Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Ascenders: when they faced off against the Falcons two weeks ago, they had to take a 75-56 loss.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Beckham Black, who posted 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Rosser Jr., who shot 50% from the field to rack up 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

IMG Academy pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points over those games. As for Southeastern Prep Academy National, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-7.

Coming up, IMG Academy will welcome St. James Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southeastern Prep Academy National, they will square off against The Rock National at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 72.08 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
