When it comes to explaining why Big Sandy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bailey Berry. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 52.4% of Big Sandy's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Big Sandy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-5) when they just don't pass the ball.
Houston County's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Big Sandy, their defeat was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
Houston County will take on McEwen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Sandy, they will head out on the road to challenge Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
