The Stratford Spartans pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to RePublic. Stratford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
RePublic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rasco Colin, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeikel Waters, who scored 16 points.
Stratford's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for RePublic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Stratford will head out on the road to square off against the Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whites Creek will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for RePublic, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Macon County is ranked 363rd, while the are ranked 381st).
