West Orange has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Evans Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Wednesday, West Orange came up short against Wekiva and fell 55-47.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Evans were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Ocoee 63-10. While losing is never fun, Evans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while Ocoee is ranked 86th).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Evans struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West Orange has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Evans, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for West Orange against Evans in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 as the squad secured a 67-26 victory. With West Orange ahead 37-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
