The Wilson Lakemen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against Royalton-Hartland by a score of 64-53. That's another feather in the cap for Wilson, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Royalton-Hartland had strong showings from Dan Aquilina , who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, and Remington Albee, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Aquilina scored a full 39.6% of Royalton-Hartland's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Webber, who scored six points.
Wilson's win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0. As for Royalton-Hartland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Wilson will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Medina at 6:30 p.m. on January 19, 2024. Royalton-Hartland is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Attica at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th.
