The Frederick Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Frederick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Frederick couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Mead by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jovan Aldana put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. JJ Strojinc was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Mountain View, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-33 loss to Greeley Central on Thursday. Mountain View has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Keegan Amans, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Mares-Benz, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Frederick's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Frederick took their victory against Mountain View when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 62-39. Does Frederick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
