The Woodward Academy War Eagles will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Seckinger Jaguars at 2:45 p.m. on January 15th. Woodward Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 games -- so hopefully Seckinger likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Woodward Academy earned a 64-51 victory over Rockdale County. Given Woodward Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Rockdale County is ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Brandon Peters, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Deke Cooper, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Seckinger came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Madison County with a sharp 71-50 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Seckinger has posted since November 20, 2023.
Woodward Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Seckinger, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
