The Gloucester Fishermen lost against the Revere Patriots back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Gloucester lost to Revere on the road by a decisive 33-14 margin. Gloucester has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gloucester bumped their record down to 5-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Hanover and 9-1 Peabody Veterans Memorial (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.3% over those games). As for Revere, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Gloucester will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Danvers at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. After each having a week off, Revere and Winthrop will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
