Riverside is 0-5 against the Bulldogs since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Riverside Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Milton-Union Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. Riverside is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Riverside came up short against the Buccs and fell 45-35. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Buccs are ranked 166th).
Meanwhile, Milton-Union also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to the Polar Bears by a score of 45-33.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kate Copp, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Riverside has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Milton-Union, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.
Things could have been worse for Riverside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-27 loss to the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January. Can Riverside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
