After flying high against the Dunbar Mightymen on Wednesday, the Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats came back down to earth. Back of the Yards College Prep fell to Fenger 27-22. Back of the Yards College Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fenger apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Back of the Yards College Prep saw an underclassman step up: Mariah Valdez scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valdez has scored all season.
Back of the Yards College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fenger, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.
Back of the Yards College Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Kelly at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fenger will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bogan at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
