Basketball Recap: Oak Hill Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Oak Hill had won six straight home games and Jace Tonagel did his part to make it seven on Friday. The Oak Hill Golden Eagles walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Delta Eagles with plenty of help from Tonagel, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 20 points along with seven assists and three steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Cruzan, who went 5-for-8 en route to 12 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Furney, who posted 16 points. Lucas Bragg also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Oak Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Delta and nudges their season record down to 14-7.

Oak Hill and Delta should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Oak Hill will challenge Lewis Cass at 8:00 p.m. on March 7th up 248 places (121 vs. 369). Oak Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Delta (ranked 65th) will meet Yorktown (ranked 220th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
