If the Sage Ridge Scorpions were feeling good off their 64-26 takedown of the Whittell Warriors last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sage Ridge took a serious blow against Mineral County on Saturday, falling 79-45. Sage Ridge has not had much luck with Mineral County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
DeVayne Isom was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight steals and seven assists for Mineral County. Isom has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Triston Jones was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Sage Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mineral County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Excel Christian the next time they take the court. Mineral County will host Excel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sage Ridge will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
