It was a proper cat-fight when Jackson Center faced off against Houston on Monday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-2.
Blake Noble spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Prenger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Preston Serr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Botkins owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Cory-Rawson with a sharp 9-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Not much got past Phil Hall, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Cory-Rawson off the board. Hall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Will Monnin was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Frey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Jackson Center's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Botkins, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
