The Edison Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 66-59 to Mapleton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Davin Wendt, who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Bourget, who scored ten points.
Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mapleton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Edison won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Huron at 7:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Huron presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edison in Ohio (Huron is ranked 223rd, while Edison is ranked 680th). Mapleton will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Crestview at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Crestview will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
