The Chowchilla Tribe pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-69 to Sierra. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chowchilla in their matchups with Sierra: they've now lost six in a row.
Chowchilla lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Deatherage, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Zayne Smith was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with two steals.
Chowchilla has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Sierra, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chowchilla will challenge Liberty at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra, they will head out on the road to challenge Minarets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Minarets is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
