Strake Jesuit suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Shadow Creek 78-50. While losing is never fun, Strake Jesuit can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Shadow Creek is ranked 13th).
Meanwhile, Alief Elsik was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 35-34 to Alief Taylor. Alief Elsik has not had much luck with Alief Taylor recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Alief Elsik's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tim Ofesi, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two blocks, and Uwalaka who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ofesi is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played.
Strake Jesuit has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Alief Elsik, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
