Baseball Recap: Eau Gallie Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Eau Gallie waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Regis Rams get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brock Lustic was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Jaquez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Eau Gallie: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Connor Petrie also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Eau Gallie's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Regis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Eau Gallie will venture away from home to face off against Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Regis, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
