Baseball Recap: Homedale Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mccall-Donnelly

There's no place like home for Homedale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the McCall-Donnelly Vandals 20-1 on Saturday. Considering the Trojans have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Chance Martell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martell was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, William Dunne looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Boston Ivie was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Homedale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCall-Donnelly only posted an OBP of .125.

Homedale has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for McCall-Donnelly, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the defeat, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

Homedale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 victory against Cole Valley Christian on the 28th. McCall-Donnelly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
