Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roma). Everything went their way against the Martin Tigers on Friday as they made off with a 21-3 victory. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Roma got a massive performance out of Kelsey Garza, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Garza a new career-high. Madelyn Garcia was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Roma picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-17. As for Martin, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-26.
Coincidentally, Roma and Martin will both be playing Palmview the next time they take the field. The Gladiators will host the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
