North Augusta is 7-2 against Cross Creek since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The North Augusta Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cross Creek Razorbacks at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
North Augusta has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Lakeside with a sharp 48-28 win on Tuesday. Given North Augusta's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in South Carolina, while Lakeside is ranked 55th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cross Creek humbled Burke County with a 75-39 victory.
Cross Creek had a senior duo take command as Tahjae Hawes dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds and Micheala Bogans scored 18 points along with 9 steals and 8 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hawes has scored at least 25% of Cross Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierra Turner, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
North Augusta pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cross Creek, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
North Augusta beat Cross Creek 50-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will North Augusta repeat their success, or does Cross Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
