Washingtonville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Warwick, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Wizards blew past the Wildcats 17-9 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bryce Tesseyman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Washingtonville: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Andrew Dempsey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Omar Puello, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Washingtonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Washingtonville now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Warwick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washingtonville will take on Minisink Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Warwick, they will challenge Port Jervis at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.7 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
