Baseball Game Preview: Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle vs. Victor Valley Christian Royals

Academy of Careers & Exploration has gone a perfect 7-0 against Victor Valley Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Academy of Careers & Exploration will venture away from home to face off against Victor Valley Christian at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Academy of Careers & Exploration has three straight victories, Victor Valley Christian has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Silas Urtiaga made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zavier Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Victor Valley Christian lost 22-3 to Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Friday.

Academy of Careers & Exploration picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Victor Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Academy of Careers & Exploration took their win against Victor Valley Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy of Careers & Exploration since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
