The Elbert Bulldogs can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 59-14 victory over Deer Trail at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Elbert as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Logan LaFollette was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Cornell, who scored ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Elbert now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Deer Trail, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Elbert will face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Evangel Christian Academy is ranked 210th, while Elbert is ranked 221st). As for Deer Trail, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Limon at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Limon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
