Bethel has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Puyallup Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Puyallup is ranked 53rd).
Bethel suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Rogers by a score of 57-55. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bethel in their matchups with Rogers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Bethel's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Malik Sidbe, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Kollie Babbs who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Norman Edwards III, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Puyallup came up short against Auburn Mountainview on Monday and fell 59-47.
Bethel has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Puyallup, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.
Bethel was taken down by Puyallup 95-64 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bethel was down 57-25.
