The Columbus Titans will face off against the Pittsburg Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Columbus came up short against Prairie View back in March, falling 22-9.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 34-1 margin over Field Kindley. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Breck Slaughter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Brette Pasteur was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and five runs while going 5-for-5. She also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Gray, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.
Pittsburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Field Kindley struck out six times.
Pittsburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs across that stretch. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Columbus took their win against Pittsburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
