The AZ Compass Prep Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-33 loss at the hands of Learning Foundation & Performing Arts. While losing is never fun, AZ Compass Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Learning Foundation & Performing Arts is ranked ninth).
Amaree Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, scoring 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was James Powell, who scored nine points along with two steals.
AZ Compass Prep bumped their record down to 6-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Learning Foundation & Performing Arts, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. AZ Compass Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on BASIS - Scottsdale at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Premier Prep- PHHoenix at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
