Basketball Recap: Joshua Owens' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View Christian Academy over Pinnacle Classical Academy

Mountain View Christian Academy was the 65-48 winner over Pinnacle Classical Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Christian Academy Mustangs took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles on Tuesday.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Owens, who posted 22 points. With that strong performance, Owens is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Spencer, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points.

Cody Humphries was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 20 boards for Pinnacle Classical Academy. The dominant performance gave Humphries a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Bridges, who put up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Mountain View Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Mountain View Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-43 win against Varsity Opponent on the 6th. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-42 defeat against Highland Tech on the 4th.
